A Song of the Weather – 76h x 76w each

Twelve small Hardanger designs based on the basic shapes of square, diamond and octagon, with a variety of bars, filling stitches and surface stitches. On 25ct Lugana they are just the right size for cards, so you practice your Hardanger techniques and you end up with 12 decorative cards for all sorts of occasions! The set can be stitched in standard perle cottons throughout, or speciality threads may be used instead.

When you have finished all designs you will have practised the following stitches: Kloster blocks and satin stitch; woven bars, wrapped bars, double wrapped bars, uneven bars, asymmetric bars, double woven bars; dove's eye, square filet (plain & beaded), spider's web, Greek cross, fan stitch, split twist, beaded diagonals, twisted bars, picots, gamma stitch, sunburst stitch; lazy daisy, French knot, colonial knot, bullion knot, pistil stitch, beaded edge, Queen's stitch, Basque knot, Portuguese border, Rhodes stitch, Pekinese stitch, leaf stitch, snowflake stitch, ermine stitch, buttonhole horseshoe, buttonhole flower, eyelet, French daisy, satin stitch braid, woven picot, spider's web rose, ribbon rose and couched beading.

The complete Song of the Weather comes with access to the blog that was written to accompany it when it first came out as a Stitch-Along; the blog contains detailed stitch descriptions with photographs as well as advice and information about speciality threads.
